Annabelle Philis Campion
Annabelle Philis Campion, age 81, of Rochester, passed away on February 3, 2012 at her home in Rochester, surrounded by her children.
Annabelle Meurer was born on August 31, 1930 in Mankato, Minnesota to Stanley and Matilda “Tillie” Meurer. Annabelle attended St. Peter High School, and graduated from the St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the 1950’s until the birth of her daughter, when she became a full-time homemaker. On October 26, 1955, she married William “Bill” Campion in St. Peter, MN. Annabelle was an accomplished piano and organ player, who was known to be able to play-by-ear at a moment’s notice. She enjoyed being a member of the St. Pius X Choir. Music was a very important part of Annabelle’s life. She was constantly singing or humming a familiar tune. During her retirement, she worked part-time at Donaldson’s Department Store in Rochester. She and her husband Bill enjoyed annual trips to Texas together. As Bill’s health slowly declined, she made it her goal to make sure he was well cared for.
Survivors include her three children, Erin (Dana) Tompkins of Byron, Kerry (Theresa) Campion of Mound, MN and Fabian (Traci) Campion of River Falls, WI. A sister, Kathleen Simonett of Minneapolis, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, a sister, Cleo, and a granddaughter Elizabeth.
A funeral Mass for Annabelle will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Charley Collins officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 8:00PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Condolences
The family of Annabelle Philis Campion has received the following condolences.
I am sorry to hear of cousin Annabelle's death. Please accept our condolences. It was always good to see her and Bill at the family reunions.
Thank you for the lovely summary of Annabelles life. I am a first cousin of Bill - my mother, S.Cecelia Madden, is aunt Regina's sister. Years have passed since I last saw Annabelle - and I remember her as a warm friendly person. It is nice to have that reafirrmed by family. Mardi Berkner
My condolences to the entire Campion family on the loss of Annabelle. May you find comfort from our Father in Heaven in the coming days.
We offer our prayers and condolences to all of Annabelle’s children and family. We had the pleasure of knowing Annabelle for many years, initially thru our cousin Bill, and visited with them in Rochester and their park place in Texas.
What a lady. She always had a positive mental attitude that made her fun to be around, even when Bill’s health was failing. We will miss her. Our last visit with her was at her home in Rochester, last August. We are glad that we took some pictures, and sent prints back to her.
We are currently in Texas and cannot attend her funeral on Wednesday, but will be with all of you in spirit.
Sharon and Jim Berkner

Our condolences to the Campion family. Our prayers are with you and we are sorry to miss Annabells funeral as we are in Florida. We have been friends of Bill and Annabell since before the birth of Erin. Seems Erin was slow arriving on her due date and I kept suggesting I could take Mom accross the rough tracks on broadway and try to push things along. I think she arrived the next day. We played lots of cards and had many good times like the evening we had pie and whipped cream and cream accidently hit the window.
I am sorry to hear of Aunt Annabelle passing away over the weekend. I wish I could be there with you but know the entire family are in my heart and in my prayers. I have fond memories of my childhood and Aunt Annabelle. We spent many Sundays and holidays together. I loved her laugh and whenever their was a piano nearby. What great fun we had with her playing and all of us singing together.
Take care and God bless!
Leanne
My dear Erin, Kerry, Fabian and family, your Mom & I had MANY laughs together, also some tears. Your Mom & Dad were so special, that we had them for friends starting in the '50's, even though we were seperated by many miles, we still kept in contact, either with phone or trips. They were so precious as so are their children, who shared good times together, this relationship, leaves Carl and I with some great memories and a great loss. We are thankful for the 60 years that God let us have Annabelle and Bill and of course their three precious children. They are now in the arms of our Saviour Jesus Christ, home.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Annabelle was such a special person to me. I have so many memories of her. I can't go by a bag of M & M's without thinking about her and laughing.
God Bless you all and know that all of us in North Carolina love you and are thinking of you.
