Angela Catherine Winkels

ROCHESTER – A funeral Mass for Angela Catherine (Schneider) Winkels will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Madonna Towers Chapel, with Father James Russell officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Winkels, 83, of Rochester, died Monday (April 16, 2012) in Madonna Towers. She was born March 18, 1929, in Adams, Minnesota and had lived in Rochester since 1963. She married Sylvan N. Winkels in Johnsburg, Minnesota on May 4, 1948. She worked at St. Marys Hospital for many years during which time she received the Karis Award for her exemplary performance during her employment. Bingo and sewing were her passions and she taught her grandchildren well. Angie always had a smile on her face and lived life to the fullest. She was recently crowned “Queen of Hearts” on Valentine’s Day at Madonna Towers.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Brink, four sons, Raymond (Sheri), Joe (Pat), Andy (Ann), and Jim (Patty) all of Rochester; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Schneider (Audrey) and Willie Schneider (Margaret) of Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and three sisters.

Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. There will be visitation one hour before the service Thursday at Madonna Towers.

Condolences

The family of Angela Catherine Winkels has received the following condolences.

My condolences to the family of Angie Winkles.  She was my partner to Bingo and we went together for a number of years.  Was so sorry to hear she had passed away.  I will miss her so very much!!!

Jim, Andy, Joe, Ray, and Dianne...I am so sorry for your loss.  Angie was such a fun lady to visit with at Madonna Towers.  She used talk to my Dad, Jim Wempe, to discuss how the Twins or Vickings were doing and if they would even watch the game.  Dad died in December so I can appreciate your loss.  Hugs,  Meg

Jim, Andy, Joe, Ray, and Dianne... Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom.  We are sorry we didnt make it up to the funeral Mass. Your mother was sure a Saint and im sure you will miss her very much.  Im sure your memories will live on forever.  I sure remember how she was always so happy and so thoughtfull. She was such a joy to be around. Seems not that long ago you guys moved to Rochester from the farm...So many great memories im sure you will treasure forever.

Love Doug and Kathy

My Sympathy and Prayers go out to my Cousins, Diane, Ray, Joe, Andy and Jim on the lose of their Mother and my Aunt. I will always have fond memories of Aunt Angela and Uncle Sylvan.

Jim, Patty and family: We are sorry to hear about the loss of Jim's mom.  Someone once told me that memories of people who were special in our lives are like bank accounts.  You can withdrawn a fun time or treasured memory with mom or grandma just like withdrawning money from an account.  I know you all made many wonderful deposits so if you continue to remember all of the good times, her memory will stay alive in your hearts forever.

God bless you all during this difficult time.

Hugs my friends - Dave and Janelle O'Brien
