Al Heidemann, 76, of Rochester, MN died Saturday, August 14, 2021 at in-home hospice.

Meyer at St. Anne’s Church in LeSueur, MN. The couple has lived in Rochester since 1987. Al began his career at UBC (United Building Centers) as a truck driver then moved to the sales floor and eventually retired as a district manager. Al loved home repair projects, watching old John Wayne westerns and spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He was a proud US Army veteran serving in Vietnam.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Jean Heidemann and daughters, Amy (Matt) Saam of Rosemount and Kari Brown (Ryan Yahnke) of Rochester; son, Jeff (Marit) Heidemann of Mantorville; and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Gary and his father James.

The family would like to give a special thanks to his Mayo Clinic team of doctors and nurses along with Seasons Hospice staff for going above and beyond caring for Al and supporting the family!

The funeral mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Pax Christi Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Condolences

The family of Allan James Heidemann has received the following condolences.

I got to know Al when we were both District Managers with UBC.  I will always cherish the friendship we developed.  He was a good man & will be missed by anyone who knew him!

As a cousin, I would  stay a few  days in the summer at Al's place with him and his brothers, as a summer as a summer retreat. Fond memories! He was always fun. somewhat quite, always easy going like his DAD. My condolences to his wife and family!. I'm sure he will be missed.

I loved my visits with Al!  He was such a happy go lucky man.  I know how much he loved his family.  I am so sorry for his illness and am so sorry for the difficult lost of such a great husband, dad and grandpa.  Hugs to you all!  Heather :)
