Aline Lovejoy

Aline Lovejoy, age 94 died on September 16, 2022. She was born to William and Ruth Prinz (Dickman) on October 8, 1927 in Rochester, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother William Prinz and her husband of forty-two years, Leo J. Lovejoy Sr. She is survived by their four children: sons Leo J. Lovejoy Jr. (Mary) of Crosslake, MN and Mathew A. Lovejoy of Rochester, MN; daughters Francie J. Lovejoy of Rochester, MN and Patricia K. Roberts (Kevin) of Hawthorne, FL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She graduated from Rochester High School in 1945 and San Joaquin Hospital School of Nursing, San Joaquin, CA in 1950 with an associate’s degree as a Registered Nurse. During her 35 year nursing career she worked at the Colonial, Worrall and Methodist hospitals in Rochester, MN.

After retiring she started taking classes at the University of Minnesota Rochester campus. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English in 2004 at the age 76. She was a lifelong learner.

She loved to have coffee with friends, was an avid reader and belonged to a book club at the Rochester Public Library. She enjoyed gardening in her backyard. Her weekly routine included driving to Apache Mall where she walked and met regularly with friends, without relying on a walker until age 92. She was independent and spirited. She had a soft heart for homeless cats and usually had a cat keeping her company.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arbor Terrace Memory Care for their loving compassionate care over the past 1-1/2 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Saturday, November 5^th, 2022 from 12:00-2:00 pm. The family will have a private burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
