Alice T. Adamson

The memorial service for Alice T. Adamson (Musgjerd) will be at 10:30AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Andrea Buck officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00pm – 7:00pm Friday, April 29, 2016 in the River Park Chapel and one half hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Burial will be at the Little Cannon Cemetery in Kenyon at a later date.

Mrs. Adamson, 72 of Rochester, formerly of Kenyon, Minnesota, died April 21, 2016 from breast cancer. Alice’s wishes were to donate her body to Mayo Clinic for medical research.

Alice was born on March 19, 1944 in Faribault, Minnesota to Tosten and Alma Musgjerd.  She graduated from Kenyon High School in 1962.  She attended the University of Minnesota and Winona State University and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from St. Mary’s University.  On October 26, 1968, she married Robert (Bob) Adamson at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester. The couple lived in Austin for many years and moved to Rochester in 1984.

Alice worked at the Cedar Valley Rehabilitation and Adult Community Treatment Center in Austin followed by many years at the Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center.  After retirement Alice had several part-time jobs and volunteered at civic organizations.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Bob; 3 sons; Doug (Marie) Adamson of Rochester, Tim (Patty) Adamson of Lyle and Tom (Karen) Adamson of St. Paul; one daughter, Sheila Cada of Stewartville; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sonia Gunhas of Zumbrota and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother and a nephew.

Memorials are preferred to the Rochester State Hospital Cemetery Group.
