Alice Rose Hawkins was born January 24, 1921 in Pine Island, MN to Susan Marion Bassette Hawkins and Patrick James Hawkins. She graduated from Pine Island High School. Upon leaving home, she went on to work for C.F. Massey Co. at The Massey Building in Rochester, MN. She married Paul LaPlant at St. Francis of Assisi Church on September 5, 1950 and dedicated herself to becoming a homemaker and generous soul who cared for aged aunties, uncles and neighbors. Everyone knew that they could count on her. Alice Rose was passionate about gardening, farming, children and birds.

Condolences

The family of Alice Rose Hawkins LaPlant has received the following condolences.

Thoughts and prayers to you Michael and your family.

Paulita, Phillip, and Mike,

I read in the paper of your mother's passing.  The day before I was thinking about some of the people in my life that I had not seen for a while...  You were on my mind.  My own mother had passed away about 3 years ago and I wondered if your mother had passed away.  I did not remember--and then the following day I opened the paper and saw your mother's obituary.

My sincere thoughts and feelings are with you at this time.  Even though mothers are old when they get into their 90's, it still is a loss.  I hope that you were able to be with your mother at the last and found it an experience to treasure.  We know it is going to happen, but find it difficult and yet are blessed to have such a mother.

Warmest regards,

Frank Siebenaler

Paulita, Mike & Phillip - My sympathy and condolences to you and your families.  Having lost my mom this year, I know how hard it is to see your mom go, but we know that they are at a better place now in heaven.
