Alice M. Anderson

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Friends may call an hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Alice M. Anderson, 94, of Rochester died Monday, December 25 at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home.

Alice was born on June 12, 1923 to Joseph and Theresa (Dietz) Fitzpatrick in St. Paul. On June 6, 1942 she married Rayfield Anderson at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester. Rayfield, a retired cement mason, died April 2, 2006.

Alice enjoyed dancing, being a grandmother and playing cards and games with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Richard) DeWitt of Rochester; son, Tom Anderson of Rochester; five grandchildren, Rick (Michelle) DeWitt of Mason, OH, Rebecca (Chris) Glassing of Northfield, MN, Sara Anderson of San Diego, CA, Ryan (Alexandra) Anderson of Woodbury, MN, and Kyle Anderson of Rochester; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayfield; parents; one son, Jerry; one sister, and two brothers.

Memorials are suggested to Season’s Hospice.

I normally don't read all of the obituaries, but was drawn to Alice's and am grateful I saw it.  My heart goes out to you Karen, on the loss of your mother on Christmas Day. I know how much you did with and for her, so her loss has to be a hard one.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  We'll be in touch soon,  Marlys and Chuck
