Adeliza Borja
Adeliza Malibago Borja, of Rochester, MN passed away early Friday, December 25, at St. Marys Hospital.
She was originally from Manila Philippines, the daughter of Felicisimo and Teodora Malibago. A graduate from the University of the Philippines, majoring in Political Science. She was secretary to the commissioner of the Philippine Department of Labor under Blas Ople. She then moved on to work for the Commonwealth Bank of Papua New Guinea. While working in Papua New Guinea, she met the love of her life, Victorio Borja, to whom she would eventually marry.
In 1983, she and her husband immigrated to the United States of America, to make a new life with the rest of her extended family here in Rochester, MN. She worked for the rest of her working life for the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Beyond her working life, Adeliza was a dedicated volunteer and devout Catholic. For many years she was a member and President of the Legion of Mary of Minnesota, a Catholic lay organization dedicated to spreading the love and comfort of Christ. She volunteered, and served as President of the Rochester International Association. She was also an active member of the Rochester, Phil-Am Association.
Adeliza was also a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, and sister. She is survived by her husband, Victorio Borja, daughter Mary Jane Borja, two grandsons Robert and Braiden as well as her brothers Bobby and Leo, and sisters Esper, Nelpha, and Myriam.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 30th at 10:30 AM at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rochester, MN. Family and friends may arrive at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at the church for a viewing.

For three decades, we were privileged to know & interact with Addie via her love for the Rochester Public Library, plus her occasional volunteerism with the Rochester International Association. She was a sweet & gentle lady who will greatly missed by family & friends. Our sincere sympathies to those who loved her.
We were so sad to hear about Addie. We dont get the paper anymore and just found out today by our Daughter Carrie.
Bless you all she will be greatly missed.

Dear Victor, Jim and I are so saddened to hear of the loss of your beloved wife Addie. In both good and ill health she was always so lovely, cordial, and such a warm person to visit with. We can't imagine the emptiness left by her passing. May your faith in God and good memories help to bring you peace. I truly regret that we will not be able to attend the celebration of her life. We are out of state, but will be thinking about you and praying for your family during this most difficult time.
