Joseph “Patrick” St. George

Joseph “Patrick” St. George, age 63 was born on February, 17 1951 to parents Margaret and Joseph St. George in Minneapolis, MN.  Pat as he preferred to be called died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 20th, 2014 from a heart attack.  He is preceded in death by his father Joseph. Pat is survived by his wife of 23 years Tammy; eight children, sons, Joseph, Timothy, Michael, Sean, David, Samuel, Nicholas and daughter Danielle; grandchildren, Myron, Emmet, Isiah, Hazel, Alex and Cash Patrick;  mother, Margaret and four siblings Frank, John, William and Mary Scholz.

Pat was a jack of all trades.  He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Marine Corps and was also a security guard in the Dominican Republic.  Upon his return from the service Pat began a lengthy career in the broadcasting business.  He began working for radio stations as an advertising sales representative and later moved on to television sales in Austin, MN and after several years he became the general manager of KAAL TV.   The last 10 years Pat has been one of the driving forces behind J.E.T.S. Gymnastics as he and his wife Tammy owned and operated the business together.   Pat loved the children at J.E.T.S. and treated them all as they were his own. He loved teasing them, giving them suckers and attending to their scrapes and bruises.  He will be greatly missed at the gym.

Pat was an outdoors man.  He loved to hunt and fish and to spend his time out on the golf course.  He also loved his children deeply and selflessly, he cherished his family regardless of time or distance, and he celebrated the bonds he made with the many people he called friends.  We ask that you hold close the memories you have of him and celebrate his life and spirit with laughter and joy.    He would find great peace and happiness knowing that he made a difference in each and every one of our lives and that his time here had an impact on so many people.  He truly was a wonderful man.

The funeral service for Pat will be held Monday, November 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the River Park Chapel. Visitation on the day of the funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorials are preferred to the Channel One Food Bank.

It is sad to hear of Pat's premature passing. I value my time with him fishing the many reefs and bays in Lac Seul during a number of week-long trips.  He taught me much about fishing and about life.  My sincere condolences to his family.

Pat was such a wonderful man. My girls just adored him - we were devastated to hear that he has passed away. We send our condolences to his family, we are so sorry for your loss.

We read this news in disbelief of your untimely death with such heavy hearts Pat.

Gone too soon - yes

Forever young - yes

Forever remembered - yes

Forever loved - yes

Will miss ya mate

If I be the first of us to die

Let grief not blacken long your sky

Be bold yet modest in your grieving

There is change but not a leaving

..... close your eyes

Breathe, listen for my feet fall in your heart

I am not gone but merely walk within you

Thinking of you all - bless you Pat

My heart goes out to each of you in this time of need. My heart aches with saddness for each and everyone of you.   It is hard to believe that someone can be spreading such joy one day and then not be around the next.  It makes us think how we need to appreciate each adn everyday with those we love and those around us.  Pat was always around when he was needed.  He was always joking with my two kids even when they were terrors.  He seemed to make them smile when they left the gym and came into eh gym each time they were their. I also want you to know that if you guys need anything i am willing to help out.

I came to know Pat only through the context of JETS over the last couple of years but somehow feel as though I've lost a life-long friend.  My thoughts are with Tammy and the whole family as I feel the same about you all.  Dear dear people.  Pat was a genuine and reliable presence -- so much so that  I'd take every opportunity to say a quick hello or give a wave knowing his response would be a bright spot in my day.  He worked tirelessly, but nary a complaint.  Not once did he seem bothered by the barrage of little details that would find their way to him.  Notable was his love for his family, including the extended family of JETS, which simply exuded out of him. When Pat was there at JETS, despite the commotion, I always had the sense that things were "well in hand." I won't say I "will" miss him as I already do.  Little Adam, too.

Sending prayers To Tammy and family.  Pat was a very kind man.  I was lucky enough to work with him at KAAL TV for many years.  You will be missed Pat!!!!

Its hard to loose someone special as a friend and Canada fishing partner.  He will be forever missed by us Texas fishing guys, Mike Lewis, Jack Dickerson and sons Chad Dickerson & Phil Dickerson.
