Mr. Fieck, 56, of Rochester, Minnesota, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born on March 19, 1957 in Rochester, MN to Howard and Nancy Fieck. He grew up in Rochester and attended Rochester school systems where he met Karen Murphy. On August 5, 1978, they married at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa and were later divorced.
Dennis was a long-time truck driver and was blessed by being able to travel.
Survivors include his two daughters, Sarah Fieck of Rochester, MN., and Danielle Fieck of Rochester, MN., a son, Shane of Rochester, MN.; three sisters, Diane (John) Ellison of Lewiston, ID., Denise (Thomas) Tollefson of Chatfield, MN., and Jessica (Daniel) Crowson of Chatfield, MN.; three brothers, Daniel (Cathy) Fieck of Rochester, MN., Daryl (Patty) Fieck of Rochester, MN, and Darin Fieck of Rochester, MN. Included in the list of survivors is his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, all of which were very near and dear to his heart. We must not forget his long-time cat, “Ozzy”, who was his companion through all the good times, as well as the bad. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nancy Fieck, and a brother, Dale Fieck.
Dennis loved to read and would spend hours sitting in his chair with a good book, reading glasses on and a cup of coffee next to him. When the season arose, and the weather changed, you could always hear the sounds of the Minnesota Viking’s football games throughout his home with the occasional outburst to the T.V.
Dennis was a very gentle soul with a heart of gold who was not only a father, brother, uncle, cousin, but also a dear friend to many, who will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He made a life-long impact in all of our lives and now it is time to celebrate his life. He gave one heck of a fight and most times was stronger than his family, but he is at peace now and has found his final resting spot to call home. May we never forget the beautiful person Dennis was and always will be.
Macken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
