Joshua Andrew Darrington, 33, of Byron, Minnesota, passed away after a brief illness Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Hiawatha Bearwood Home in Byron, Minnesota.
Josh was born to Colleen Darrington on September 11, 1979 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. As a child Josh was the cutest and most lovable baby. He enjoyed being outdoors and exploring his environment, playing with his toys and listening to all kinds of music. His greatest enjoyment was being able to spend time with his mother. They had a special bond and he was able to visit at his mother’s home often. He loved her “homemade” treats and cooking especially the turkey dinners she made just for him. From child to adult, Josh was a food fanatic and loved to try different foods especially anything chocolate or “mom-made”.
Josh resided at the Hiawatha Bearwood Home in Byron where he loved his summer vacations with his housemates, and all of the activities and adventures with his Hiawatha Family and friends. Josh also had many friends at Opportunity Services in Kasson. One of his favorite activities there was to be able to go to Otto’s Bakery in Byron.
Josh is survived by his grandmother Barbara Lundgren of Pharr, Texas, his aunts Shayne (Dave) Bjorndahl of Mandan, North Dakota, Darcy (Scott) Klouse of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and uncles Marc Darrington (Robin) of Wells, Minnesota and Greg Darrington (Julie) of Waseca, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his mother Colleen Darrington, grandfather Sheldon Lundgren and numerous cousins.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the Bearwood staff and Hiawatha Homes for their loving and continued support to Josh during the last few months as well as to Mayo Hospice who helped support Josh.
