Kevin J. Kosloski

Kevin J. Kosloski, 51, of Rochester passed away on February 28, 2013 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester from complications of Myotonic Dystrophy.

Kevin was born July 31, 1961 in Rochester, the son of Duanne and Shirley (Youso) Kosloski.  He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1980.  He attended Abilities Unlimited in Rochester for seven years and made many lasting friendships.   On September 29, 2001, he married Mary Giles in Rochester.

Kevin was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.  He enjoyed playing board games and playing games on his Wii. He took great pride in caring for his dog and especially enjoyed taking him for walks and out for treats.

Kevin is survived by his wife Mary, his brother Allan (Marcia) Kosloski of Oklahoma, nieces, Sarah (BJ) Layton, Jessica (Jeff) Fones, Elizabeth (Adam) Randall, Wendy Kosloski and 6 grand nephews and nieces; father –in- law Gerald Giles of Brainerd, brother-in-laws Don and Gerald Giles Jr. of Rochester; Don Saltou of Mississippi, sister-in-law Tina Giles of Peoria, IL and his special Shih Tzu, Fergie.  Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Marilyn Saltou and one nephew.

A sincere thank you is extended to the staff of Hiawatha Homes, Inc and the team at Saint Mary’s 4- Mary Brigh unit for allowing a special guest to visit Kevin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday March 8, 2013 at the Macken Chapel. Pastor Don Noonan of Rochester Baptist Church will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Macken Chapel. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Condolences

The family of Kevin J. Kosloski has received the following condolences.

Dear Kosloski Family,

I want to express my sympathy to you in your loss.  I only met Kevin on a few occasions as we visited or sang at the home there with a group from Rochester Baptist Church.  May the grace of God and His great love be very real in each of your lives at this time.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  John 3:16

Mary, we're so sorry to hear about Kevin's passing.  We are praying for you!

Mary,

What a blessing Kevin was to our family.  It was always such an encouragement to us when we saw the two of you come to church.  And you and Kevin both live your lives as such a godly testimony to those around you.

Kevin will be missed by us and others!  Please call on us if you need anything...anything at all.

We continue to pray for you, and hope you find comfort not only from your friends and family but from the Lord.

We love you!

Patrick and Christine Aleman and family

Dearest Mary, Allan, and Marcia,

We were so sorry to learn of Kevin's passing.  He was precious and will be missed.  We thank the LORD for a place called Heaven.  You are in our prayers. We have been so blessed to be a small part of Kevin's life.  I remember one particular Sunday not seeing Kevin at church .  I asked the caregiver where he was and she told me that he stayed home so another gal from the home could have the opportunity to visit services as only ONE wheelchair at a time could ride in the van.  I was touched.  That's just how thoughtful Kevin was! God has an eternal home for us with no good-byes, sorrow or pain. We look forward to Kevin's graduation service and know he is without complaint in his new home. Our love to each of you.
