My condolences to the Hicks family! I was saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. I have known the Hicks family since I was a child (and that's a long time ago). My father knew Jerry's father, my mother was a friend of the family for years, and my brother was a good friend of Jerry's in their childhood.
He will be missed. God's blessing and comfort to the family!
Julie and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Ducky was truly a treasure! The times spend out on the lake fishing, and his humor just made the trip so much more enjoyable, nobody could think of a great come back quite like Ducky could. He will forever be in our memories!

I was in shock when I heard about Jerry's death. I haven't seen him in years, but just couldn't believe he was gone. We were friends growing up, living just around the corner from each other. Our backyards almost touched so we all spent lots of time together in those years. I remember walking to school every day together. I actually remember Jerry driving a day or two after he got his license. He almost hit the bridge on South Broadway near Soldiers Field park. He said he keeps veering to the right without realizing it. It was so funny. Well, we laughed AFTER we realized we weren't going to hit it and were OK! Well, I remember many things, but just know that I am praying for the family, hoping that you get some comfort and peace knowing that he is in God's arms now.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time. There are many good memories of times spent with Jerry, Julie and boys in the good old softball days. God bless you.
It was an honor and a priviledge to have known such an AWESOME man...
My deepest sympathy and friendship to you Julie, Jason, and Jed...God Bless you ALWAYS!!!!
I was saddened by the news of Jerry's passing. My condolences to the entire Hicks family. Jerry seemed to always have a smile on his face when I would see him at the rink. He'll be missed.
Our condolences to your family in this time of grieving. Jason, your dad was a good man and a great grandfather. He will be missed. We pray that the memories he leaves behind will be able to fill the void his physical presence has left, as you will have much to remember and enjoy reminiscing over. Our family will continue to pray for yours in this time of need.
