Dear Ed-These days have me revisiting fond memories of 30 and 40 years ago. Growing up with 3 sisters, I found refuge on the slopes with you and John. From the warm, spacious backseat of your Cadillac I was transported endless times to the snow covered ski hills of Minnesota and Wisconsin where I would discover the joys of a sport that has remained a core part of my life. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought of you while skiing in my adult life; you, with your cigar and big smile, standing on the snow waiting for John and I at the bottom of a ski run. Thank you Ed for all of the care you showed me as a young boy. I wake up now in the days following your passing reliving those mornings spent in your house with the smell of pancakes, and your smiling face greeting John and I. You were like an uncle to me--and I am grateful for all of your love. Bless You.
John -
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

Losing a parent is never easy, but knowing Kathy over the years, we've learned the dignity and grace of the Franciscan way. And we learned from the obituary of the many contributions her father made to his community. May that comfort you in the years to come.
