Marsha, I was saddened when I heard this news. I had wanted to attend the visitation so I could reconnect and share my sympathies with you in person, but I was in Arizona at the time. Dear Ed-These days have me revisiting fond memories of 30 and 40 years ago. Growing up with 3 sisters, I found refuge on the slopes with you and John. From the warm, spacious backseat of your Cadillac I was transported endless times to the snow covered ski hills of Minnesota and Wisconsin where I would discover the joys of a sport that has remained a core part of my life. I cannot tell you how many times I have thought of you while skiing in my adult life; you, with your cigar and big smile, standing on the snow waiting for John and I at the bottom of a ski run. Thank you Ed for all of the care you showed me as a young boy. I wake up now in the days following your passing reliving those mornings spent in your house with the smell of pancakes, and your smiling face greeting John and I. You were like an uncle to me--and I am grateful for all of your love. Bless You.
