Condolences

The family of Edward A. Nelson has received the following condolences.

To Eddie and Fern's Children - Kim, Mike, Craig and Jeff,

You are each special in your own way, just as God created you.  We became neighbors before some of you were born and we treasured your parent's friendship, watching you grow and enjoying our time together.  Your paarents were the kind of people who would always take time to talk, help out with any task, and be there for a friend or family.  What a heritage.  May God always be close to you four, strengthning when the path is bumpy, encouraging and positive when the path is rough and may you always see Jesus at the end of your path.  We love each of you.

Orland and Maxine

Jeff, Barb, Nichole, Dylan and Spencer

We are thinking of you today.   Please know we care and that our prayers are with you.

Dear Nelson family,

We knew Eddie all our lives. Spent many a happy day at school and don't recall a day that he didn't have a smile and a good word for everyone. He will be missed a great deal. God be with all of you and know that your Dad is spending his "forever" with your Mom.

Harold and Sally Oviatt

Jeff, Barb, Nicole, Dylan and Spencer -

We sure are saddened at the passing of your dad and grandpa. May God cover you with a peace that passes all understanding today, and fill you with hope overflowing in the days to come. Praying for you all.

Love,

Brent, Becky, Brady and Robbie

I knew Ed for a short time while I worked at Meadow Lakes.  I left there back in November 2010.  Ed always had a smile on his face when I saw him.  He was a happy wonderful man.  I am so sorry to hear about his passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Members of the Nelson Family,

I learned of your fathers passing as I read the Post Bulletin paper while spending the winter in Mesa Arizona. I came to know your father Ed through hockey and from attending other sporting events where he was working. As a hockey coach your parents Ed and Fern, were the kind of parents every coach would have enjoyed working with.  They were always friendly and positive no matter what was going on in the Hockey world.  I always appreciated talking to your father when I saw him taking tickets at JM functions.  We always talked about old times and he would give me the latest info about what was going on with the Nelson family.  As you know he missed your mother very much.  The memories I have of your father and family will always fond ones.

My name is Bill Manuel and I coach hockey with Edwards son Jeff.  Even though I never had the privilage to meet Edward I am sure Edward and Jeff share some of the same outstanding characteristics.  Jeff has shared a few of his childhood stories with me over the past two years and it sounds like he had a father who cared deeply for him and his family.  I am sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers.  I am sure you all have wonderful memories that will stay with you for the rest of your lives.

Regards,

Bill, Maria and John Manuel

We are so sorry for your loss.  We will be praying for you and your family.

Craig and family,

my condolences on the passing of your father.  I remember him from our days of playing ball together (Hunt Drug, Firefighters I & II), Craig; he was always rooting for us in person or in spirit if he couldn't be there.  I also remember having an end of season party at your house; he was alright in the eyes of your teammates.  His joy of life and friendly manner will be missed.

You are all in my prayers and thoughts.

Sending hugs and prayers....

Love,

The Solseths

Sympathies for the Nelson Family.  Ed was a kind and gentle man.  Enjoyed my visits with him whenever our paths crossed.  RIP Ed.  You will be missed.

Eddie and I go back to when we were teenagers. had alot of wonderful memories of him talking hockey and having alot of good laughs. He was one of a kind and one great human being. Eddie you will be missed. God bless you.

If there was ever a more devoted couple than Fern and Eddie, I never met them. They are back together again, where they belong. I have many good memories of them. I would bet half a horse that Eddie is in heaven, trying to talk Jesus into getting a flat top haircut as we speak.

Kim and family - I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like a wonderful, amazing soul. I will pray that he may rest in peace and that God will be with you all at this sad time.

To the Eddie Nelson Family,

I am saddened by the passing of your father, Eddie.  Eddie and I go back many years, having worked together at IBM and at the Mayo Civic Center.  His infectious smile and funny stories were a blessing to all of us who came into contact with Eddie.  Boy, could he hustle when at work, always on the move and doing something (anything) that was productive. The marriage that your parents had was and is an inspiration to us all.  We can be thankful that they are now together to enjoy eternal life together with our Lord.  Eddie - you will be missed by all of us who knew you.  God Bless You Always.

Dearest Nelson Family,

Just a short note from that crazy girl that liked that one song we sang! Eddie truly was one of a kind. He will be missed on this earth, but I imagine the party really has just begun for where he now dances and sings! My prayer is you feel God's strength surround you, comfort you, and hold you up during this time of loss. Along with the stories you will probably hear for the next couple of days of those who loved him and were his friends, will remind you how blessed you all were to be a part of his family.

All my love, hugs, and prayers.
