Justin Patrick Kuntz

Justin Patrick Kuntz, 18, of Rochester, died peacefully on Sunday (February 26, 2012) at home after his long battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family and his faithful dog and cat.

The Memorial Service for Justin will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating with a luncheon to follow.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service.

Justin was born in Rochester, Minnesota on June 26, 1993 to Mike and Sheri Kuntz. He attended Aldrich, Golden Hill, Gage, John Adams and John Marshall public schools in Rochester.

From an early age, Justin made an impression on all those he met due to his infectious smile. He lived his whole life in Rochester, but he loved to travel and was able to visit many states during his lifetime. He became a dedicated fan of movies, especially superhero movies, and spent much of his life in a darkened theater watching them.

Justin was an avid collector of action figures and was one of this town’s biggest movie buffs. His favorite superhero and superhero movie is Spider-Man and he had the good fortune of meeting Spider-Man in Florida as a last wish.

Those left to live life for Justin include, his mother, Sheri and father, Michael, his grandparents Rick and Bea Casper, his grandmother Josephine Kuntz, his nine aunts and uncles and his many cousins and second cousins.

Justin was preceded in death by his grandfathers Edgar Kuntz and Virgil Gifford and his uncle Rod Casper.

Mike and Sheri,

Justin was in my early childhood preschool class at Gage East.  He was a delight to have in class and I will always remember how he would brighten our day.  He always had a smile on his face and would make us laugh.  He will be missed.  I am sorry I won't be able to make it on Saturday and wanted to let you know my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Lori Engstler

Mike and Sheri,

Justin was an absolute pleasure to work with.  I have so many wonderful memories of him.  He had such a passion for certain things--pop tarts, his Disney vacation photo album, with the great picture of him in the lounge chair by the pool reading a magazine, action figures "hidden" in his pocket, excitement about the opening day of all Disney movies and of course his love of all super heroes.  I can still hear him say, "Ah, Mrs. Paul," with a smirk on his face as he told me for the hundredth time who the character was.

Love, Sue Paul

Mike and Sheri,

I am not able be there tomorrow, but know that my thoughts and my heart are there with you.

Hugs,

Nancy

Dear Mike and Sheri,

So sorry about Justin.  I am glad you were able to go on the trip and enjoy time together as a family and now you can have those memories to hold on to.  I made a donation to Brighter Tomorrows today so hopefully other kids can benefit as well. You are in my thoughts and I hope the healing process and support from us will help fill your sad hearts with brighter days ahead.  I will not be able to attend but I will be with you in spirit.

Rita and family

Dear Kuntz Family,

Although I did not know Justin personally I work at TAP with many of Justin's friends from JM.  To hear them talk about Justin and to see them grieve for him, I know that he was a very special young man and that he touch the lives of many during his too short time here on earth with us.  Please Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

Michelle Kinney

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Although I didn't see Justin as much at John Marshall, I worked with him weekly when he attended John Adams. What a kind and enjoyable young man! He taught all of us more than we could ever begin to teach him. He was a joy to have worked with and known.       Melody Hammel, Occupational Therapist at Rochester Public Schools.

God's timing is a mystery which we can not understand, yet we trust for the future and cling to our Lord's hand, as we can now rejoice that Justin suffers no more and has found peace.  He is now and will be forever more our angel,  for life begins on earth but finds its fulfillment in heaven.

Chuck & Alice Kuntz
