Carol Dawn Bostrom

The funeral for Carol Dawn Bostrom will be at 11:00 AM Saturday February 4, 2012 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, with Rev. Lester Horntvedt officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Visitation will be held at River Park Chapel one hour before the service.

Miss Bostrom 77, of Rochester, died Tuesday January 31, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester of complications from a stroke.

Carol was born December 8, 1934 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Oscar and Clara (Kastet) Bostrom. She moved, with her family, to Rochester, Minnesota and graduated from Rochester High School. After high school, she attended Mac Murray College in Illinois. She obtained her degree in elementary education at Utah State University. She was an elementary teacher in St Louis Park, Minnesota and in the Tacoma, Washington area. Prior to completing her education to be a teacher, she was a ticket agent for Northwest Airlines. In her younger years she was a world traveler which included spending a one year sabbatical touring Australia

Survivors include her brother Maynard Bostrom and sister Loretta Pettey, both of Rochester. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Clara, and four sisters, Marion (Carl) Grande; Gertrude Leqve; Charlotte Hanson and Elaine (Donald) Nelson.
