Regina Dilworth Bales Nicks

Regina Dilworth Bales Nicks passed away at Samaritan Bethany On 8th Nursing Home on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the age of 94.

Regina K. Dilworth was born to Michael and Nora Dilworth on February 20, 1917 in Salem Township, Olmsted County. She was a graduate of St. John’s High School in 1933. She attended Rochester Junior College, and graduated with a degree as a medical secretary. Following graduation, she worked for Mayo Clinic, and retired in 1979 as an Xray supervisor, having worked for over 42 years.  She married James Bales in Rochester in 1952. He later passed away in 1966. Regina loved knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling, and especially time spent at the lake. Although Regina had no children of her own, she was a “mother” to her many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Percy Ryan of Rochester and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband James, sisters Frances and Valera, and brothers Harold and Norbert.

A Funeral Mass for Regina will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father Paul Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
