William Alfred “Bill” White

William Alfred “Bill” White, age 65 of Stewartville, passed away on August 7, 2011 of natural causes at his residence. Bill was born on May 14, 1946 in Rochester to William L. and Dorothy White. Bill attended John Marshall High School, graduating in 1964. Following high school he attended the MN State Teacher’s College (currently the MN State University Mankato) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. Following teacher’s college, Bill began teaching middle school science in the Rochester Public School District. Years later, Bill obtained his master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in secondary education counseling. He then obtained a position as an academic advisor with the Upward Bound Program at MN State University Mankato.  In the early 1990’s he retired and was able to more freely enjoy his love of the outdoors, particularly down-hill skiing and boating. He also especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his children, Justin of Minneapolis and Heather of Eden Prairie, siblings Garry of Eagan, Bruce of New Jersey, and Debra Clare of Arizona.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Friday August 12, 2011 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th Street SE, Rochester, MN.

Justin and Heather -

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad.  I have fond memories of our childhood (our parents were friends) - our families used to boat together (remember Woman Lake Lodge?).  Your dad was also my science teacher at Kellogg, and I learned a lot from him.  Your family will be in my prayers, and you have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Sincerely,

Edie
