William J. Walker

A Funeral Mass for William J. “Bill” Walker will be 11:00AM Friday, July 8th at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester officiated by Rev. Paul Nelson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Walker, age 75 died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital as the result of a heart attack he suffered the day before.

He was born William James Walker June 26, 1936 at Windom, Minnesota to Doyle and Kathleen (Rhoades) Walker.  On July 17, 1954 he married Marilyn Fladgard at Windom and she survives. The couple moved to Rochester in 1962. Mr. Walker was a retired Mayo Clinic employee.

Bill enjoyed motorcycling and was a member of the Patriot Guard. He loved to golf, hunt, fish and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a friend of Bill W. for forty years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Linda Maccini of Rochester and four sons:  Tom Walker of Costa Rica; Steve (Anita) Walker of Madison, Wisc.; Dan (Melody) Walker of Rochester and Bill (Lori) Walker of Rochester. Also surviving are grandchildren Ana, John, Emily, Aleta, Molly, Ryan, Tricia, Daniel and Justin along with great-grandchildren Katilynn, Kayla and Logan. Two sisters and two brothers survive: Mary (Dave) Voss of McComb, Illinois; Terri Funk of Zumbrota; John (Diane) Walker of Rochester and Bob Walker of Rochester.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents and two brothers.
