R. Kevin Cunningham

The memorial service for R. Kevin Cunningham will be at 11:00am Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Rev. Paul Nelson officiating.  The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Kevin was born in Rochester on November 23, 1933 to Arthur R. and Leona A. (Desbiens) Cunningham.  Kevin graduated from Lourdes High School in 1952 then St. Marys School of Nursing in and Mayo Clinic School of Anesthesia in 1957.  He worked as a Nurse Anesthetist at Olmsted Community Hospital for 40 years retiring in 1997.  He was a past member of the Minnesota Nursing Association and the Minnesota Association of Nurse Anesthetists.  In 1970 he was President of the Rochester Exchange Club.

Survivors include his brother Dr. Richard (Jean) Cunningham of Temple, TX and a sister Rita Cunningham of Rochester; four nieces, Kathleen (David) Baird and Sheila Cunningham both of Temple, Texas, Linda (Brett) Wallace of Topeka, Kansas and Patricia (Kyle) Sayes of Lake Jackson, Texas.  He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.

Kevin was a kind and gentle soul.  He enjoyed reading, watching golf, and having lunch at Michael’s Restaurant.  He loved his family and especially his good friends Bill Adamson, Chuck Breckle, Father Richard Engels and many, many more.  He will be greatly missed by all.
