Steven B. Hulsizer
Steven Hulsizer, 69, of Rochester, MN passed away on April 22, 2024 at Grand Meadow Senior Living Center.
He was born on December 3, 1954, in Victoria, Texas, to John and Jennifer (Ball) Hulsizer. Steven graduated from Mayo High School. He developed a strong work ethic early on, which he carried with him throughout his life. He worked a variety of jobs in Wyoming, Utah, and Rochester before going to Strongwell in Chatfield, Minnesota, where he worked diligently for 26 years until his well-deserved retirement. On June 8, 1984, Steven married Lora Lau, at the Church of the Savior. Sports were a significant part of Steven’s life, particularly baseball and his beloved Minnesota Twins, along with cheering for the Minnesota Vikings during football season. He had a deep passion for sports statistics and could engage in spirited conversations about any game. During his school years, Steven served as the team manager for football and wrestling while also being an active member of the wrestling team. Beyond his love for sports, Steven had a love for travel. As a NASCAR fan, he journeyed to numerous racetracks across the country, cherishing each moment spent in the electrifying atmosphere of the races. He also loved all animals, but his heart belonged to his faithful companion, Buster, his cherished dog who brought him so much joy. Kind-hearted, generous, and selfless, Steven touched the lives of those around him with his compassionate nature.
Steven is survived by his siblings, David (Liz) Hulsizer of Beaver, PA, Janet (August) Krueger of Rochester MN, Michael (Sharon) Hulsizer of Marshall, MN, Joseph (Jennie) Hulsizer of Bloomington, MN and Eric Hulsizer of Rochester, MN; mother-in-law, Joyce Wear; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews and a lot of extended family and friends. Steven was preceded in death by his wife, Lora; parents, John and Jenni; sister, Quintina Fahrow, and by his father-in-law, Bob Wear.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to St. Croix Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was shown to Steven.
