Hubert Keith Bones

Hubert Keith Bones, 71, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away on March 17th, 2024 after a courageous battle with various types of cancer.

Hubert was born on January 22, 1953, to Hubert and Helen (Reiss) Bones in Stayton, Oregon. Following his high school graduation, he embarked on a journey to Rapid City, South Dakota, to attend college. It was there that he pursued his career and built his life until moving to Rochester, Minnesota in 1994.

In 1985, fate intervened when Hubert met Karen (Narveson) at a softball game in Rapid City. Little did he know that the game would lead him to the love of his life. They exchanged vows on June 7th, 1986, in Rapid City and together raised two children, Lindsay and Aaron.

Upon his retirement in 2018, Hubert cherished spending time with his five grandchildren, watching them grow, and indulging in activities like working on puzzles and wintering in Texas. He enjoyed working on cars, sharing stories, and showering affection on his beloved family pets.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Helen, and his brother Balthasar “Louie.”

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, his daughter Lindsay (Aaron), and his son Aaron (Brittany). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Kylie and Triston (children of Lindsay and Aaron), Trenton, Kinsley, and Jaxon (children of Aaron and Brittany).

Following Hubert’s wishes, his ashes will be spread among the Black Hills of South Dakota, where he first met his beloved wife and started his family. A memorial service will not be held, and instead, those who wish to honor Hubert’s memory are encouraged to make donations to their local pet shelters or cancer societies.

Hubert Bones will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, love for his family, and zest for life. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
