Joleen A. Fujan
In the early morning hours of November 8, 2023, Joleen Ann Fujan passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, MN at the age of 86. Joleen was born in East Grand Forks MN to Raymond and Rose Dudgeon on August 23, 1937, the middle child of eight siblings.
She spent most of her younger years in Lucan MN, while attending school at St. Ann’s Catholic School in Wabasso. She then worked at the family-owned meat locker and store, until her marriage.
Joleen was an amazing seamstress, sewing clothes for herself and keeping her daughters dressed to the “nines”. She loved seeing her grandchildren play sports and in the last few years enjoying her great grandchildren. She loved roses and in her latter years became an avid angel collector (a tribute to her faith).
In the late 1950’s she met the love of her life, Edward Francis Fujan at a dance, where they were immediately smitten with each other. June 7th, 1958, they were united in marriage at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church in a double ceremony with her sister Roselyn and Jerry Johnson.
In 1959, her first of four beautiful daughters, Deb was born in Lakefield MN, followed by #2, Patti in 1960. In 1964, Beth was born in Truman, where her father taught school and Joleen took care of her three young children. Following a move to Rochester, MN, where her beloved husband attained, in what would be his last career move at Rochester Community College, she gave birth to her youngest, Amy.
Joleen is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward, her daughters Patti (Charlie) Brown, Beth (Jeff) Kochie, Amy (John) Urlaub, grandchildren Zach (Megan) Brown, Dylan and Taylor Kochie, Tim and Allie Urlaub and her 5 little “smile makers” great grandchildren Owen, Silas, Oliver, Hunter and Finley Jo Brown. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deb (Roland) Owens and grandson, Cody Brown.
We want, from the bottom of our hearts, to thank the incredible care teams at 4th Floor Nasseff Tower at St. Mary’s and Seasons Hospice, who lovingly cared for her in her final days.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
