Annette L. Lewis

Annette Louise Lewis, 87, of Rochester, MN passed away Thursday November 2, 2023, at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Hospital surrounded by her family.

Annette was born in Lewiston, MN to Leo and Elma (Voss) Schott on September 22, 1946. She grew up on the family farm and later graduated from Lewiston High School in 1953. She worked in the laundry department for Holiday Inn until she met her husband. She married Francis (Frank) Lewis on September 29, 1970 at a little church in Lewiston, MN. To this union they were blessed with three children; Gerald, Evelyn, and Marilyn. Upon the birth of her children, Annette became a homemaker. They made their home in Rochester, MN. As the children grew older, Annette returned to working for the Holiday Inn.

Annette enjoyed short semi trips with Frank and she had a CB radio handle/nickname of Blue Bonnett. After Frank’s passing, she moved into town and joined the Ascension Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, doing crafts, playing BINGO, socializing with friends & family, listening to classic country music, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Annette was known for her family historical knowledge. She was everyone’s go-to person for information, dates and events pertaining to family history. Annette was a positive person and known for her quick wit. She was also very proud of her youthful appearance.

She is survived by her children Gerald (Joyce Meldahl) Lewis of Ellendale, MN, Evelyn (Tony) Giordano of Stewartville, MN, and Marilyn (Tim) Saari of Dodge Center, MN; a stepson Timothy Lewis of Austin, MN; 9 grandchildren Samantha Schott, DJ Schott, Megan Giordano, Tyler Giordano, Kinsey Giordano, Jeila, Logan Lewis, Destiny Lewis, Thomas Lewis and a great grandchild, Stiles; nephew John (Kara) Schott, 2 nieces Connie (Mark) Schott-Hanson, Bonnie Schott, and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by husband Frank, her parents Leo & Elma, and a sister Isabelle Schott.

Her children thank the wonderful staff at Samaritan Bethany for the many years of care for Annette.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, also in Rochester. A luncheon will be held at the church after the burial.

Annette is the reason people like me work in long term care. She was sweet, funny, caring, and loved any chance she could get to show off that she "still has all her marbles!"
