William “Bill” F. Newell

The funeral for William “Bill” F. Newell will be at 11:00am Thursday December 16, 2010 at Homestead United Methodist in Rochester with Pastor Becky Jo Thilges officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be held from 5:00pm – 8:00pm Wednesday December 15, 2010 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Mr. Newell, 68, of Rochester passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home on December 12, 2010.

Bill was born on November 29, 1942 in Rochester to Howard and Bernita (Lynch) Newell.  He married Linda Lenhardt on May 14, 1977 in Rochester.

He is survived by his wife; children Dawn Newell of Rochester and Michael (Bobbie Jo Bleifus) Newell of Rochester; Grandchildren Austin Stephans and Taylor Schwirtz; Brothers Dale (Mary) Newell of Coconut Creek, Florida and Duane (Mary) Newell of Rochester.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Bill retired last year as a cook at Grandma’s Kitchen in Rochester.  He had worked there since 1993.  He was an active member at the Autumn Ridge Bible Study since 2000; He loved going to garage sales, fishing, car trips, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.  Bill was also an avid knife collector.
