Orlando R. Martinez, Sr.
Orlando Ramirez Martinez, Sr., 65, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 in Rochester, Minnesota.
He moved to Minnesota in 1993. He loved attending school and sport events with his grandchildren even if it meant going across town from game to game trying to be at five places at once. He loved watching almost all sports, especially football (Go Cowboys). His family was very important to him. He would help out by giving his last dollar to whomever needed it and have great talks with everyone every day. He taught us what family was all about, to love and support each other. His smile, his sarcasm, his good mornings, good nights, his stories, his eyes, his laugh, and his voice will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Celso and Magdalena Martinez; brothers, Salvador Martinez, Arnulfo Martinez, Sr., and Cornelio Martinez; and sisters, Hilda Martinez and Elvia M. Torres.
He is survived by his daughters, Isabel (Osvaldo) Cardenas, Janet (Cesar) Hernandez, Ashley (Omar) Sanchez and son, Orlando Martinez, Jr.; grandchildren, Mark, Cesar Jr., Angelica, Benjamin, Evan, Angel, Romeo, Olivia, Jacob, Rose and Janet; siblings, Crescencio (Marina) Martinez Sr., Constancio (Lucila) Martinez Sr., Irma Martinez (Manuel, Sr.) Rivera, Herlinda Martinez (Albert) Alvarado, Rodolfo (Minerva) Martinez Sr., Celso (Rosa) Martinez III, Magdalena Martinez, Hector (Sylvia) Martinez Sr., and Elsa Martinez Alvarez; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Mass service will be at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in 11 Fourth Ave SW, Rochester, Minnesota. Rosary begins at 9:30 a.m. Mass Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
