Brenna Lynn Amos

Brenna Lynn Amos, 33, of Stewartville, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident.

Brenna was born July 12, 1989 in Rochester, Minnesota to Donald and Marla (Carpenter) Battey. She was a 2007 graduate of Century High School.  During middle school and high school, Brenna participated in the National Competition Cheerleading Team as a flyer, and this team participated in national championship competitions.  She was accepted into the competitive University of Minnesota Co-Ed Cheer Team, but was not able to attend.  Brenna went on to obtain two Associates Degrees in Liberal Arts and Surgical Technology.  On September 6, 2014, Brenna was united in marriage to Chad Amos and they were blessed with three sons.  Brenna worked as a surgical technologist and most recently as a cast technician at Olmstead Medical Center.

Brenna loved country music and attended many country music concerts and festivals.  Some of her favorite musicians included Morgan Wallen, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Kane Brown.  She had a particular interest in new musical talent and sought this out at festivals.  Brenna was an excellent cook, often sharing recipes with friends, and enjoyed fine dining.  She had a deep passion for makeup and fashion and enjoyed shopping.  Brenna and Chad recently started playing golf again, and she enjoyed watching the boys swim in their swimming pool.  Brenna had a strong love of animals, especially cats and dogs, and lots of them.  She enjoyed gardening and life in the country.

Brenna was a loving, loyal and helpful friend and family member.  Brenna taught the neighbor kids how to ride their bicycles without training wheels when she was little.  She was an outstanding Aunt to her nieces and nephew and was always willing to babysit when the need arose.  She would drop anything to help a friend in need, even if it involved travelling long distances.  Her main passion in life was her family, particularly her three boys.  Her feisty personality manifested in being very protective of her children and the first one to speak up if something wasn’t right.  She had very close and loving relationships with her boys, always challenged them to accomplish more, anticipated their needs, and helped them deal with the bumps and bruises of life.  Brenna is deeply missed by her family and friends.

Brenna is survived by her husband, Chad; sons, Brayden, Camden and Owen; mother, Marla Battey; father, Donald Battey; sisters, Shayla (Brandon) O’Reilly, Alanna Battey; nieces, Piper and Mavis O’Reilly, and Violet Amos; nephews, Jack O’Reilly and Arlo Amos; uncle, Dennis (Selena Fox) Carpenter; aunts, Julie Carpenter and DeeDee (David) Peterson; grandfather, Donald E. (Suzanne) Battey; cousins, Neal (Kaycie) Peterson and Nolan (Katie) Peterson; in-laws, Scott and Tammy (Rysted) Amos; brother-in-law, Travis Amos (Anna); and a host of other family and special friends.  Brenna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Darrel and Avis (Moore) Carpenter, and Patricia (Holets) Battey (Conrad Mader).

A celebration of life and funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th St. SE, Rochester, with Rev. Selena Fox officiating.  Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation in memory of Brenna. I am only an acquaintance, but I could see Brenna had a zest for life, passion for her children, an enduring love for animals, and much love for Chad. The loss of her life is truly heartbreaking, and I’m especially thinking of her three boy. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this unimaginably difficult time.

Hello Battey/Amos family. HI Chad ❤️

Chad you probably dont remember me too much which is okay! My name is Krista and I went to surg tech school with Brenna. I got to know her very well when we would skip out on some classes together;)

Brenna was such a ray of sunshine for me when I lived down there. She welcomed me to their home for dinners, or just a place to escape and be apart of a family when mine was so far away. Man did she love her boys unconditionally.. I always wondered if I'd be a cool mom like her someday..

I know I haven't seen her in years, but it still hurts knowing Heaven gained another Angel too soon. It does not make it any easier though.. I am so deeply sorry for your loss of Brenna

All I can do/say is you have to keep looking up during this time and you ALL are being prayed for comfort and peace during this difficult time.

Love your distant friend,

Krista
