Timothy Morgan

Timothy (Tim) Morgan passed away on July 9, 2023, in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born on May 28, 1961 and grew up on a farm near Lime Springs, Iowa. Tim was a caring and devoted spouse to his wife, Beverly (Bev) Morgan, whom he married in 1984.

Tim was a proud father to Miranda Morgan Lilla and husband Matt Lilla, Taralee Morgan, and Heidi Knoke. He was Papa to Norbert, his best friend and special joy.

Tim completed his high school education at Harmony High School, graduating in 1979. He studied broadcast engineering at Austin Vocational Tech.  He spent his engineering career at  KTTC TV, KXLI TV, KTMA TV, and KAVT TV.  For the last five years, Tim was the Media Technical Coordinator at Evangel United Methodist Church, where he demonstrated his lifelong dedication to his Lord, service to others, and commitment to a pristine, well-planned service.

Tim loved to play the guitar, sing, and write music.  He did weekly shows online during COVID and performed at local coffee shops and restaurants.  He was an endless Mr. Fix It who showed his love by taking care of his family and friends.  Tim loved date nights at the movies, watching college and professional sports, and weekly phone calls with his twin brother Tom. He was especially proud to be one of the founding members and drummer of the band Gemini.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Charles Morgan, mother, Bernadine Kelly, sister, Sue Reiss, brother-in-law John Reiss, brother, Larry (Rosie) Scrabeck, and nephew Micheal Scrabeck.

He will be greatly missed by his parent Emily Morgan, brothers Rick, Joe, Tom, Dwight and Wayne, sisters Mary and Karen and their large and loving families.

We will always remember Tim as a funny, energy-filled family member and friend whose impact on others was immeasurable. He will be forever missed.

Condolences

The family of Timothy Morgan has received the following condolences.

Growing up in the Twin Cities community, I had the pleasure of having Tim as a Sunday school teacher and leader church. I remember going camping and hiking excursions that were sponsored by the church with Tim, and he served as a mentor to myself and others in those outings. He moved on to Rochester, but I never lost contact with him and would visit  him on occasion. The culmination of my relationship with Tim was when our family moved to Rochester for three years recently. He helped with our move-in to our house, and he generously helped us move out when we left. In between, we were blessed by (all too infrequent) get togethers with him. Our thoughts and prayers to Bev, the family, and the numerous community members and friends whom he shared his life (and love of music) with. God bless.

Bev and Family.

I am so sorry to hear of Tim's passing.  Thinking of all of you at this time.

Bev and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss kidding with Tim and talking about Gopher Football on Sunday mornings before service.

Bev and family so sorry for your loss. Tim was a very special person. Deb and I have a lot of great memories of Tim. One of Deb‘s special memories of Tim what is that he walked her into the Agapi dinner. My special memory of Tim was of our conversations and how they made me a better person.

Tim was a great guy, always friendly and always had time to stop and talk, even if he and Bev were out for a walk.  We've known Tim since his early teen years and have been invited to many Morgan Family get togethers.
