Wayne J. Stucky – Rochester, MN
Wayne Joseph Stucky, 90, of Rochester, MN, died Sunday, June 11, 2023, surrounded by family.
Wayne was born July 1, 1932, in Pine Island, MN to John and Rose (Meek) Stucky. He was the youngest of 11 children. He graduated from Pine Island High School in 1950. After graduation Wayne moved to Minneapolis and began work as a letter carrier for the US Post Office.
On June 1, 1957, he married Nancy Ellen Hunter, and they had two daughters, Nancette and Stacie. In 1961 they moved to Rochester, MN where Wayne continued his career with the Post Office until his retirement after 33 years of service.
Wayne was a lifelong musician and began playing gigs with various swing and polka bands at the young age of 15. He often joked that he had his music union card before he had his driver’s license. Over the course of 60 years, he played trombone with the Chatfield Brass Band, Trombones Anonymous, numerous area polka bands, as well as playing in the “pit” for many Rochester Civic Theater productions. You could also find Wayne playing bugle in the Drum and Bugle Corp during parade season. Music and family were his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancette Stucky (Brad Churchward), Stacie Stucky, two granddaughters; Adrienne Fisk, Ali Rector (Dustin), two great grandchildren; Cicilia and Beau, and best friend and love, Kate Finley. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Stucky, five brothers, five sisters, and his parents.

Condolences
The family of Wayne J. Stucky has received the following condolences.
To Wayne’s family and friends,
I remember Wayne, Nancy Nancette and Stacy. The fun times our families had together. I remember 1976 because Nancy and my mom decorated their basements in the 1776 to 1976 style. I still have an old cream can painted yellow used for dog food! I am proud to have known Wayne and his family.

Nancette and Stacie, I have so many memories of your Dad, Mom and time spent together at your house. Remembering Mitsie (the dog), your Mom's big fruit compote jar, your Dad's trombone, and dancing to ABBA in the basement of your home. Hoping memories are seeing you through this hard time as well .
Karen
So sorry for your loss! I always remember Wayne having the big smile on his face! He always always so friendly and kind.
