Patricia A. Mott
Patricia Mott (Angelici), 58, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital with her loving family at her side. Patti, as she was known to her loved ones, was born on December 26th, 1964, to Albert and Anna Maria (Marcelli) Angelici.
Patti attended St. John’s Elementary School and Lourdes High School before graduating from John Marshall. In 1986, she married Newell Mott Sr., and they had two children. They were later divorced.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and anyone who met her would surely come away with a smile on their face. Patti loved spending time with her family and her sons. She was a devoted mother who worked tirelessly to instill good morals and values in her children. They were her greatest joy, and she always took an interest in their lives and any activities they were involved in.
Patti was an animal lover who adored her four-legged family members almost as much as her sons. She doted on her pets, and you would find her regularly walking her dogs in the neighborhood or Mayowood Park with her sister. Whenever she had time for herself, she would spend hours enjoying the birds at her feeders or the antics of the squirrels in her yard.
Patti worked for many years as a waitress before opening her own coffee shop on 2nd Street SW, Marcelli’s Espresso & Gourmet Coffee. For over 5 years, Patti owned and operated the shop which led to many memories and lasting friendships. While she was running and maintaining her own business, Patti went to school and obtained her RN degree. She worked for over 15 years at St. Mary’s Hospital as a GI nurse. She was very skilled and knowledgeable and attended to her patients with the greatest care and respect.
Patti will be remembered for her kindness, her willingness to help others, and her love for her family and friends. A sweet soul that left this earth too soon, she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna Maria Angelici, two brothers, Kenneth Angelici and Albert Angelici Jr. and her sister Mary Kuisle. She is survived by her two children, Newell Mott Jr. (Emily Ellingworth), and Dominick Mott, sisters, Carmelita Angelici and Sandra Monte and nieces Camille Angelici (Joshua Duerr) and Candida Angelici (Kelly Huberty).
Her family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and care providers at Mayo Clinic Rochester for their extraordinary care and support.
Patti’s Celebration of Life will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home on Thursday, February 16th from 4:00 PM– 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Paws and Claws Humane Society.

My family and I were fortunate to cross paths with Patty over 10 years ago at St. Mary’s hospital. She has taken care of my critically ill brother on multiple occasions. Over time, our family developed a close friendship with her. She was the best nurse we have ever known. She filled his room with laughter and love each time. Our sincerest condolences to the loved ones of Patty. We are sending you love, comfort and praying for your strength during this difficult time. Thank you Patty, for the love and care you shared with my family. You will be incredibly missed.

My sister Mary Jo Briggs and I would have coffee every morning before work at the coffee shop.Patti was always fun and loving and always had a smile on her face.She would tell us about how proud she was of her boys. A beautiful woman. A beautiful friend. A beautiful soul. The day was brighter when you saw Patti. The world is a better place for her being here. Someday her memory will bring a smile without the tears. My good fortune to have known her and all the Angelici family.
I love Patty forever as her cafe was the best place and I loved studying there and just being social and then I was lucky enough to be a nurse with her and we got to work side by side and take care of so many people! I love her family and kids! And she still even liked me after finding out that I was seeing her ex-husband,Newell!See you again someday! I will miss you and will never forget our times together! I know you will look down on us all from above!

So sad to hear about the loss of Pattie. I worked with her on Dom6D for 5 years and always enjoyed her smile, goofy personality, and kind heart. She and I would talk about our dogs, get through many long shifts together, and bond over the idea of traveling to Europe. She was a beautiful soul that gave so much of herself to others. My prayers go to her family during this difficult time.
