Cindy Hoban
Cindy Hoban, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Samaritan Bethany.
Cindy was born on September 16, 1948, in Hudson, WI to Bill and Shirley (Mentink) Enloe. She attended a one-room schoolhouse before graduating with the Class of 1966 from Hudson High School. She later completed her LPN nurses training in Red Wing, Minnesota and began working at Methodist Hospital, where she met her future husband, Dan Hoban.
Cindy and Dan were united in marriage on June 16, 1968, in River Falls, WI. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and love.
Cindy began her career as a nurse before dedicating 33 years as an in-home daycare provider. She later worked as a para at Folwell School. Cindy clearly loved children and found great joy in caring for and teaching them throughout her life.
She had a special gift for nurturing, not only children, but also her beautiful flower gardens. Cindy enjoyed reading, playing cards, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and in her later years, day camping and spending time with her beloved cats. She and Dan shared a love of travel, especially trips to Alaska, Hawaii, New York, and several memorable cruises.
Cindy will be remembered for her bright blue eyes, her big smile, and her fun-loving spirit. She loved to laugh, was kind-hearted and curious, and was always eager to learn something new. She was a fantastic grandma who created fun traditions and treasured moments with her grandchildren. Her sweetness and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Dan; daughters, Becky (Brett) Greseth and Debby (Gregg) Houdek; son-in-law, Darrin Herrera; grandchildren, Megan, Braeden, and Mason Greseth; Alex and Lucas Herrera; and Brenna and Will Houdek; siblings, Bill (Beth) Enloe, Chuck (Jody) Enloe, Rachel (Eric) Hohnstadt and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Chris Herrera; sisters, Debi Enloe and Ginny Enloe; and her parents, Bill and Shirley Enloe.
A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th St. SE, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Cindy will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know her. Her smile would light up a room which she passed on to her three daughters. I always felt her genuine love for all those she touched.
