Patrick James Bromelkamp, age 71, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota, died Saturday, January 24, 2026, in Naples, Florida.
Patrick was born February 25, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Henry J. “Hank” and Elaine Teresa (Kuhl) Bromelkamp. He graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester, Minnesota, along with his eight brothers. Patrick excelled in mathematics and attended Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, where he served as a teacher’s assistant in mathematics.
Patrick worked as a computer systems consultant, assisting individuals and families with their technological needs. He was intellectually curious and loved reading. He had a lifelong interest in science, technology, and astronomy. Fiercely independent by nature, Patrick valued self-reliance and approached life on his own terms.
In earlier years, Patrick enjoyed golfing with his brother Dan and friends and participated in a long-standing weekly poker game. He developed a passion for photography and enjoyed documenting his life in Florida. Patrick was an avid cyclist and regularly rode his bike throughout his Naples neighborhood, enjoying long rides and the warm sunshine.
Patrick was a devoted Minnesota Twins fan and followed the team closely. His interests included reading, music, news and current events, science, computer technology, golf, and Florida living. He was also a longtime member of the Perkins Restaurant/Bromelkamp softball team, playing alongside several of his brothers.
Patrick is survived by his eight brothers, Jeff and Chris, both of Rochester, Minnesota; Peter (Sue) of Zumbrota, Minnesota; Mike (Patty) of Mahtomedi, Minnesota; Dan (Karen) of Maple Grove, Minnesota; Henry (Jeff Nelson) and David (Kay), both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Tim of Stillwater, Minnesota; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J. “Hank” and Elaine Teresa Bromelkamp.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and medical professionals in Naples, Florida, for their care and support.
