Julie Ann McCoy, 65, Rochester, MN, died Thursday, December 18th, 2025, peacefully at home.
Julie was born on July 26th, 1960 in St.Paul, MN to Ronald and Violet (Quimby) Phelps. She graduated from Byron High school in 1978. She started working at the Mayo Clinic shortly after graduation and continued working there until retiring in July, 2025. On March 17th, 2001 she married Mark McCoy.
Julie spoke often of the deep love she had for her family and friends, and how she viewed them as her “best medicine.” Julie also enjoyed camping on the Mississippi River, planting, painting, gardening, and singing. Julie’s love of blues music took her and Mark to many blues festivals especially the Duluth blues festival.
Julie is survived by her husband Mark; daughters, Chelsey (Rick) Wentworth and Emma McCoy; sister, Pam (Gary) Lakner; father-in-law, Harold McCoy; sisters-in-law, Michelle McCoy, Mindy Highet, and Mary Jo McCoy; grandchildren, Weston Dean and Alora Rose; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Janet McCoy and brother-in-law, Mike McCoy.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 26th, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral home with Msgr. Gerald Mahon officiating, Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

It saddens me to hear that Julie has passed. I remember our times as children! She was always a wonderful cousin! She will be missed dearly. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the service. You are all in my thoughts and prayers! Love to you all!
