Benjamin “Ben” Moore

Benjamin “Ben” Mitchell Moore, age 40, of Saint Paul, MN, passed away on August 28, 2025.

Ben was born on December 21, 1984 in Rochester, MN. The beloved son of Mitch and Therese (Benda) Moore, he grew up surrounded by the love of his family. He graduated from Century High School in 2003 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Iowa State University in 2007. Ben built a successful career in corporate finance, where he worked for 18 years with dedication and integrity.

He is survived by his parents, his sisters, Mollie Moore Wigen (Scott), with their sons Owen and Finn, and Madeline Moore Anderson (Chris), with their son August. Ben is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who held him dear.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas and Margaret Benda, Owen and Eleanor Moore, and his uncle Dennis Benda.

Ben was a kind soul who faced life’s challenges with courage. He battled addiction for over 20 years and found strength and purpose through the sober community in Saint Paul, where he formed lasting friendships and encouraged others on their own journeys of sobriety. Outside of that community, Ben found joy on the golf course and in his passion for collecting watches, both of which brought him peace and connection.

Above all, Ben will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. Though his time here was far too short, Ben’s kindness, humor, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew him.

A celebration of Ben’s life will be held on Saturday September 13, 2025 at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., and services will be held at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to join Ben’s family for a luncheon following his service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to scholarships at The Retreat in Wayzata, MN, in Ben’s name.  https://info.theretreat.org/donate-giving-form

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss.

Though I only had a few opportunities to work with Ben, each one left a lasting impression. He was incredibly patient, kind, and always willing to lend a hand when it was needed most. When I was just getting started with the financial aspects of budgeting for my product, Ben took the time to guide me through every detail. He made sure I understood the process completely, never making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. His support meant a great deal to me.  Every interaction I had with him was marked by warmth, humor, and genuine care. I will always remember Ben with deep respect and fondness.

Sincerest Regards,

Sneha

I'm so sorry to the friends and family of Ben.  I worked with him over the last few years at Digital River and he was an excellent employee during a difficult time at the company.  My heartfelt thoughts are with you.

I'm devastated by the loss of my lifelong best friend, Ben.  Over the past 30 years, we formed a friendship and bond that will never be duplicated or replaced.  We shared so many great memories growing up together, playing countless rounds of golf and spending weekends at my cabin.  Ben was the most loyal friend I'll ever know and I'm going to miss him more than words can possibly express.

My heart goes out to Mitch, Therese, Mollie, Maddie and the rest of his wonderful family.   Rest in peace my brother.
