Mitchell “Mitch” Frederick
Mitchell “Mitch” Scott Frederick passed away on July 24, 2025, from leukemia (AML) at age 68. He died at home in Rochester, MN surrounded by his beloved family. Mitch was born February 26, 1957, the oldest of three children to Mel and Donna Frederick. Their family lived in West Concord, MN until Mitch attended St. Olaf College, where he graduated with a BA in Political Science and History.
After a fulfilling career of 30+ years in personal finance management, Mitch retired in 2019 from RBC Wealth Management. For years Mitch worked alongside his father Mel at Dain Bosworth and Rauscher, serving his clients with integrity.
Mitch’s friendship was a joy to many and he always greeted everyone with a friendly smile and kind words. He was an avid music lover who especially enjoyed live music and local bands. He is known for having extraordinary knowledge of any classic rock band including his favorites, The Beatles and The Grateful Dead.
An adventurer and outdoor enthusiast, Mitch could be found golfing at the Rochester Golf and Country Club, skiing at Beaver Creek, CO, or on any of the local bike trails with his wife Deb and their three kids.
Following his AML diagnosis, Mitch said “We’re not giving up, we’re living it up”. So on Sunday, July 20th before his passing, his family and friends hosted a celebration of life at their home where over 150 people came to share their stories, memories, and blessings with Mitch.
Mitch leaves behind a beautiful legacy, including his wife Deb, three children (Elizabeth and Aaron Gamble, Laura and Rod Aliabadi, Hans and Jessica Frederick), and eight grandchildren.
To help keep Mitch’s memory alive, please think of him fondly when you listen to his favorite music. If you wish to make a donation in Mitch’s memory, you can do so at givenow.lls.org.
