Scott Ditlevson

Scott Edward Ditlevson July 27, 1961 – July 28, 2025. Scott departed peacefully on July 28, 2025 at the age of 64 at St. Marys hospital surrounded by family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on July 27, 1961 in Blooming Prairie, MN, Scott was the cherished Son of Lynwood and Donna Ditlevson. He spent his early years in Blooming Prairie, MN, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports. In school he was a wrestler but in his later years was known for his love of all sports especially the MN Vikings.

Scott was known for his sense of humor, taste in music, and love of animals. Scott and Diane had many cats and dogs over the years but most recently he could be seen spoiling Lucy their 6 year old Cockapoo.

He dedicated his life to the hospitality industry in various management positions. Scott enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and celebrities at the various hotels that he worked at. He was also proud to share his hotel discounts with friends and family.

He found immense joy in spending time with his wife Diane. They enjoyed going out for dinner on Fridays, golfing, spending time at the lake in Wisconsin, and having a friendly rivalry during the NFL season when the Vikings played the Green Bay Packers. Scott looked forward to spending time with his three children and grandchildren.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife Diane Ditlevson, children Chad (Tram) Ditlevson, Kassandra (Ryan) Wilkening, Cory Ditlevson, Step-Daughter Cami (Jesse) McMahon, and Step-son Chad Grube; grandchildren Emmalyn Ditlevson, Abigail Thalacker, Jacob Thalacker; siblings Deb (Vince) Krell, Dan (Lydia) Ditlevson, Rick (Karen) Ditlevson, Shelly (Scott) Noble, Lori (Tim) Pirkl; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He  was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lynwood and Donna Ditlevson, and his brother Jeff Ditlevson.

Condolences

The family of Scott Ditlevson has received the following condolences.

Diane,  so sorry to hear of your loss.  Our most sincere condolences to you and your family.  Brent & Gerri

I was sorry to hear of Scott’s passing.  He was a great guy.  I spend most of years in band as his stand partner.  He was much braver than I was when it came to playing the solos.   Rest in peace, Scott.   You left us far too young.   Prayers being sent for the family.

To the whole Family: I am so very sorry for your loss of Scott,I can not believe he is not with you all anymore, may God give you the strength to overcome and know that God is watching over him now🙏

For my last three years of high school I sat next to Scott every day in band and also stage band as trumpet players.  He was pretty modest about his talent, but he was a very good musician and played his share of solos.  He always had a good heart (a bit of a family trait I might add) and quick smile.

Our interactions over the years since were brief, usually related to a Blossoms sporting event or visit back home to spend time with his dear mom.  It was always a treat to reconnect.  Knowing that he is gone feels that a part of me is now gone, too.  I can only imagine the loss felt by those to whom he was close.

To all who knew him well and loved him, please accept my heartfelt condolences.

So sorry to hear of Scott's passing.  Worked with him and he was always funny and caring. Considered him a friend in addition  to boss. Hugs to you Diane and your entire extended family. Hang on to those wonderful memories . Ken and I extend our sympathy and you will be in our prayers.

We were so sorry to hear that Scott passed away. Know that all of you are surrounded by family and friends that love and care about you during this time of sadness. We were so happy that Scott came to our 50th anniversary. We had a nice visit with him that day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. With Our Sympathy... Merrill and Debi Bernau

I am so sorry for your loss, Diane. You are in my thoughts and prayers! ❤️

Was so sorry and shocked to hear about Scott's pasding.   My deepest sympathy to your whole family.  Take care and know that he is happy in heaven with God.

This is such a shock to me.  He was the baby of our group.  Absolutely not supposed to happen.  But God obviously had another plan for Scott.

Know that I am holding you close in my thoughts as you all navigate through this painful time.  Scott’s presence will be felt and his love will continue to surround you.  I wish that I wasn’t so far away and could share in his life celebration.

I am here to help in any way I can.

My sympathies for your great loss is unending.

Kathy
