Jason A. Eich
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Allan Eich, who left this world on July 26, 2025. Born on November 5th, 1971, in Hayfield, MN, Jason graduated from the Hayfield High School class of 1990. Jason had a natural wit that kept those around him laughing. An excellent teacher in life, he taught us the power of being in the moment and truly enjoying it.
Jason was a man of many passions. He loved cooking, boating, fishing, avid hunting, riding his motorcycle, fixing things, and watching the Packers game. Jason fixed anything with more creativity than MacGyver himself and cooked like a 5-star chef, but nothing gave him more joy than putting a smile on the faces of his loved ones and knowing that he helped.
One of Jason’s favorite accomplishments was the opening of their restaurant, renowned for its delicious food. This venture not only showcased his talent for the culinary but also his dedication to serving others.
Jason’s love and laughter can still be felt in the hearts and minds of his daughters Alex Eich and Charlee Wilder, his brothers Jarrod (Brandie) Eich, Royal (Laura) Johnson, and Matthew (Kathryn) Johnson, his sister Katie Johnson, his girlfriend Anna McNutt and her children, his family support network Butch Johnson, Bruce Drysdale, James (LuAnn) Hahn, his father Tim Eikens, and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Jason has been reunited in death with his mother Sandra Johnson, his brother Anthony Johnson, his grandparents Louise and Bill Eich, and many other aunts, uncles, family, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, Minnesota.

I first met Jason at one of my band's gigs at Miguel's in Frankfort. He seemed to love to dance and would dance to just about every song. I didn't know him personally, just through him coming to a couple of our shows, but he was always nice to me. He even got one of our T-shirts.

Jason was a strong minded person who loved to fish and hunt. He was kind and beautiful.
