Richard “Rik” Schneiter

Richard “Rik” Schneiter Richard Charles Schneiter, 54, of Dodge Center, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. Marys Hospital.

Rik was born on July 26, 1970, in Rochester, MN, to Charles and Mary (Gemelke) Schneiter. He attended Byron High School and later earned his GED. He also received his CDL from Riverland Community College. On December 7, 1996, he married Dorothea Colsch at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron, MN. They were married for 26 years. Rik worked as a truck driver and jack of all trades before retiring in 2020. Rik loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and riding his 1959 Panhead Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was also an avid fan of watching WWE with his father and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings with his family.

He is survived by his children, Jessica and Charles Schneiter; his mother, Mary Schneiter; siblings, Lisa (Mark) Scharpe, Patti (Sean) Kelley, and Jeff (Jackie) Schneiter; nieces and nephews, Cory (Sandy) Kleeberger, Briana (Max) Griffin, Shawna Holder, Ally (Alec) Smith, and Josy Kelley; and nine great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret and Herbert Gemelke, Jane Donaldson and Carl Schneiter; his father, Charles “Bud” Schneiter; his son, James Schneiter; and a niece, Samantha Pederson.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Grandview Memorial Gardens, with Macken Funeral Home and Rev. Mark Scharpe officiating.

A celebration of life will follow the service at the home of Mary Schneiter, 715 Southfork Pl SE, Kasson, MN 55944.
