Scott J. Struckmann

Scott Joseph Struckmann, age 63, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Waseca, MN.

Scott was born on December 12, 1961, in Rochester, MN, to David and Rose (Mueller) Struckmann of Eyota. He married the love of his life, Kathleen (Kate), on June 3, 2011, in Rochester.

Scott spent much of his career working at Hormel and Crenlo, Inc., before health challenges led him to early retirement. Despite these difficulties, Scott continued to work for Groome Transportation until he could no longer do so. On August 13, 2022, he received the gift of renewed life through a double lung transplant, a journey he approached with strength and resilience.

Scott was a man who cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved fur babies, Mollie and Winston. He loved camping at Kiesler’s in Waseca, watching sports and NASCAR—particularly the Minnesota Wild—traveling to Florida, hunting, fishing, and woodworking, a passion he pursued until his health declined. He was a devoted member of Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kate; his mother, Rose Struckmann of Eyota; children Kayla (Mike) Mathiason of Sandy, UT, Vanessa (Zach) Jacobson of Kasson, Benjamin (Kylie) Struckmann of Rochester, and Elainy Struckmann of Rochester; stepsons Brandon (Samantha) Studnicka of Rochester and Bryan (Lori) Studnicka of Kasson; and eight cherished grandchildren: Ivan, Eltin, Ava, Carter, Savannah, Charlotte, Kylie and Liam

Scott is also survived by his siblings Jeff (Connie) Struckmann of Eyota, Brenda (Mitch) Kostel of Rochester, Carl (Sue) Struckmann of Spring Valley, Tracy (Wayne) Pollock of Rochester, and Steve (Jeanne) Struckmann of Eyota, along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends Tammy and Dan Kruger of Byron.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Struckmann; his grandparents; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Pax Christi Catholic Church, Rochester, with Fr. John Sauer officiating. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers family request donations to UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing ) or to American Cancer Society.

Scott’s memory will live on through all who knew and loved him.
