Curtis R. “Curt” Schumacher

Curtis Robert Schumacher passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the age of 80.

Curt was born on April 1, 1945, in Spring Valley, Minnesota to Lawrence and Isabelle (Klubertanz) Schumacher and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1963.

On June 25, 1966, he married Christine Rubin in Spring Valley where they resided until moving to Rochester in 1974. They were later divorced. He married Kim Glover on January 5, 1985, and she survives.

Curt was very proud of his service in the Army Reserve during the Vietnam era, and continued to honor all those who served in whatever capacity he could.

He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge, serving as Exalted Ruler of the local lodge and as a veterans service director on both the state and local levels for several years.

Curt worked as a service tech and sales representative for Lindsay Water Conditioning in Rochester for a time before becoming a heavy equipment operator for the City of Rochester and, subsequently, Olmsted County at the Kalmar Landfill, from which he retired in 2009.

He is survived by his loving wife Kim, his daughter Tracy (Buck) Hardwick, his son Scott (Rennelda), grandsons Anthony James and Caleb, his sisters Carol (John) Adams and Mary (Terry Craft), and many nieces and nephews.

He was a friend to all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, pending arrangements with family.
