Raymond (Ray) J. Alberts
Raymond (Ray) Joseph Alberts passed away on March 22nd, 2025 surrounded by his loving children, at the age of 96.
Ray was born on November 30th, 1928 in Fountain, MN and was the only child of Wayne and Burnetta Alberts. He went to Lourdes High School, where he played and developed his love for basketball. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1953. Ray worked at the Post Office for over 30 years and was member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Ray married Virginia Vagts on April 11th, 1954. They purchased their first home in the Country Club Manor where they raised nine children. Ray lost Virginia in 1970 yet continued to raise the children on his own with patience and pride. Their home had many cherished traditions such as annual trips to the MN State Fair, Gopher football games, MN Twins games, Vikings training camp, and extravagant Christmases.
Ray had the funniest sense of humor and was always sharing his one-liners. In retirement, he always had time to chat about “the game,” depending on what season it was. He was an avid reader and kept up with current events. He loved going for walks, visiting on the back deck, and spending time with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, kindness, love, and dedication to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Burnetta, his wife Virginia, and his son Daniel.
Ray is survived by his son Greg of Papillion, NE, his daughter Nancy Kinkaid (Bob) of Rochester, MN, his son Steven (Carol) of Westminster, CO, his daughter Jane Otte (Sheldon) of Minneapolis, MN, his daughter Allison of Rochester, MN, his son Ted Alberts (Connie Henderson) of Rochester, MN, his daughter Pam Alberts (Pat Frank) of Ostrander, MN, his daughter Stephanie Johnson (Wayne) of Minneapolis, MN, 19 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, in Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Very sorry to hear about your dad, It's been over 40 years since I have seen many of you. The memories we had growing up in the manor were many, I still remember your dad walking in our front door looking for Nancy :) My thoughts and prayers are with you
Randy
So sorry for your loss. Since Kris grew up in the Manor and we both hung out with Greg and Nancy, we knew your Dad and admired that he raised you all on his own. He was a hard worker. We'd be at the service if we were in town. Condolences to your entire family. Wish we were there.
So very sorry Nancy. Big hugs❤️
To the Alberts Family......I am so very sorry to hear about your dad. Life at its longest is so very short. What a reunion for your mom and dad in heaven that must of been. Hugs to all of you.
