Kelly J. Haen
Kelly Joseph Haen was born July 29, 1961, to William “Bill” and Florence (Jansen) Haen in Rochester, MN on his Grandpa Lawrence’s birthday.
Kelly enjoyed rides in the van to and from Possabilities and on the many outings they did at Arbor House. A couple of his favorite trips were to Vikings training camps and Minnesota Twins baseball games. Kelly loved the Twins and added his two cents to the end of the anthem whenever he heard it, “Here’s to the Minnesota Twins today!” Kelly would say in his special way, “Today!”
Kelly also enjoyed listening to music. A couple of his favorite songs were “Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head” and “Rhinestone Cowboy.” Florence sang to Kelly all the time. They had an endearing banter where she would sing or say something to him, and he would respond as only she and those who were closest to him could understand.
He is survived by his loving mother, Florence, sister, Robin (Scott) Robbins and brother, Scott Haen. Additional survivors are his nephew, Alec (Chelsea), Elliana, Ryder, and niece Sara (Dane Anderson), aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Kelly was preceded in death by his father, Bill Haen and infant brother, Brian. His maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Agnes (Miller) Jansen and paternal grandparents George and Pearl (O’Connor) Haen, uncles Paul and Chuck Jansen and Bob and Tom Haen and Aunt Carolyn Jansen.
The Haen Family would like to extend their appreciation for the compassionate and loving care of Kelly from the staff at Hiawatha Homes-Arbor House, Possabilities and Dr. Thomas Poterucha of the Mayo Clinic.
Celebration of Kelly’s life will be held at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church 1600 11th Ave SE, Rochester, with Father James Steffes as celebrant, on Monday, December 16th at 11am. Visitation at the church will begin at 9:30am until the time of Mass. The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Possabilities of Southern MN or Hiawatha Homes.

Condolences
The family of Kelly J. Haen has received the following condolences.
Dear Florence, Sue just sent me a note on Kelly's passing. My deepest condolences to you and all your family and his care-giving family. I wish I could be there to attend as a completion of my student nurse care for him so many years ago. I have a prior commitment to choir practice for the Holy Spirit women's choir for Christmas Day Mass or I would be there. Know that my prayers are with you to help in healing the hole in your heart at the loss of a loved child. As I wrote to Sue, we know his soul went straight to Heaven for a wonderful homecoming and he is now whole and happy in the love of God as one of His special ones. God bless you, Sharyn
Florence and Family,
I was very sad to hear of Kelly's passing. I really enjoyed working with him when I was at Hiawatha Homes.
I loved listening to him and how he always had a smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by his housemates
and staff at both Hiawatha and PossAbilities. Take Care.
Elaine Ingalls.
I worked with Kelly at PossAbilities, and I have many great memories of our time together, especially when I was able to get him belly laughing. He had such a wonderful laugh. Kelly was similar to me as we both enjoyed listening to music. I would sit with him, and we’d listen to all types of music together. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have gotten to know Kelly and work closely with him. He will be missed.
Sorry for the loss of Kelly. I never met him, but I'm sure he was a great person -> per he's a Haen. Sorry Scott, life will be a bit quieter now.
My condolences to Kelly’s family and the Arbor staff who cared for him. I worked with Kelly many years ago at the Arbor house and would love how excited he would get when the Twins would play. He would yell, “wayyyyyy out!” I’ll never forget that sweet smile! Thoughts and prayers with all!
My grandmother, Bonnie, worked at Arbor for years before retiring. I can remember coming to see her and the clients and I loved Kelly!! I was a choir kiddo and he loved to sit and listen to me practice and song to him. A smoke that lit up a room.
