Julia M. Colvin

Julia Colvin, 105, a long-time resident of Rochester, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Madonna Towers.

She was born December 22, 1914 in Beulah, North Dakota, and moved to Rochester in 1936 to be employed at Saint Marys Hospital. It was in Rochester that Julia met her husband-to-be Arthur ‘Art’ Colvin. They married on March 26, 1940 and enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Together they especially liked to dance, play cards, travel, and spend time with family and friends. Julia also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren along with other craft hobbies. Art and Julia were long time members of Saint Francis Catholic Church, and in more recent years, Pax Christi Catholic Church.

They moved to Madonna Meadows in 2005. Shortly after the move, Art passed away on December 3, 2006 and Julia has resided there until present time.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Price; two sons, Ronald (Lee) of Livermore, CA, and Larry of Brooklyn Park, MN; a daughter, Joanne (Gene) Walters of Dover, MN; six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Along with Art, Julia is preceded in death by an infant son, a brother, and a sister.

A funeral Mass for Julia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN with Rev. John Sauer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Condolences

The family of Julia M. Colvin has received the following condolences.

Larry, so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. We need all the Angels we can get. What a wonderful life she had.  Prayers your way

Ron

Sorry to hear about your mother's death during this Pandemic time.  Sorry I am not able to come to her funeral but know that I am thinking of you.

Hope to see you in the future when it is safe for all of us to be together again.

Jim and Geraldine Griffin

Our deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother, Julia. She was a marvel, coming to say the rosary at Madonna Meadows. Her memory was sharp. She was very agile in getting herself down the hall and into the chapel. She was a great lady.

We, also, remember both your Mom and Dad sitting near us at St. Francis Church for many years. They were a loving, faith filled  couple.

Julia was a very dear lady and may many happy memories remain with you and your family.

My sincere sympathy on the loss of your Mother.

I believe you were neighbors of ours in Simpson, and Ronald and I went to school together.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are thinking of all of you in Julia's family.  We grieve with you,

and may your many memories give you peace in her passing.

What an awesome accomplishment of a full life for nearly 106 years!

Uncle Art & Aunt Julia....together again!   Just as we remember them!
