Darlene L. Funk

The funeral for Darlene Leona Funk will be 10:30am, Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester with Pastor William Otte officiating.  A graveside service will take place at Lakefield Cemetery in Lakefield, Minnesota at 4:00pm, Wednesday with Pastor Bart Mueller officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Macken Funeral Home and also from 10:00am to 10:30am on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Funk, 70, of Rochester passed away on July 11, 2010 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.  Darlene was born on November 29, 1939 in Lakefield, Minnesota to Harold and Leona Swanson.  Darlene was a retired employee of the Mayo Clinic in the admissions department.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Rochester Senior Center.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, quilting and bible study.

Survivors include her sons Dana (Casey) Funk of Rochester, Chris Funk of South St. Paul, and Brian (Kirstie) Funk of Rochester and her daughters Denise (Dale) Priebe of Rochester and Dianne (John) Keller of Andover, Minnesota.  She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, one great-grandson, mother Leona Swanson, sister Barbara (Patrick) Wiese of Loveland, Colorado and a sister-in-law Phyllis Swanson of Grand Meadow.  She is preceded in death by her father Harold Swanson, her son Rick Funk and her brother Gerald Swanson.
