William “Bill” Lehman
William Robert Lehman, 55, of Rochester, passed away on July 31, 2019 at his residence following a lengthy battle with alcoholism.
Bill was born on July 28, 1964 in Rochester to Frederic and Teresa (Manahan) Lehman. He graduated from John Marshall in 1983. On December 30, 1989 he married Cheryl Hofbauer in Rochester. Together, they had three girls, whom Bill loved with all his heart. Cheryl and Bill were later divorced but cherished the friendship that remained. Bill had a 29 year career with the Mayo Clinic, and at the time of his passing was an Associate Clinical Trial Coordinator. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed long distance running and was very proud to have completed three marathons: NYC, Twin Cities, and the inaugural Med City. Additionally, Bill was an avid golfer and demonstrated his prowess when he hit a hole-in-one while in Carroll, IA on an outing with his father-in-law and brother-in-law. Such an array of interests kept Bill busy and ultimately deterred him from a career in comedy, as he had a passion for painfully corny jokes.
He is survived by his daughters, Hillary (Peter Krause) Lehman of St. Louis Park, Hannah of Minneapolis, and Jordyn of Rochester; his ex-wife, Cheryl Lehman of Rochester, MN; siblings, Shawn (Donna) Lehman of Oronco, Agneta (Mark) Gottinger of Maple Grove, Steve Lehman, Mary Hanson, Margaret (Kyle) Watkins, Sara (Dan) Braasch and his father, Fred Lehman, all of Rochester, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; and close cousins, Katie Pressnall of Oronoco and Mark Oldenburg of Rochester, MN.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Lehman; a brother, Lawrence Lehman; and his beloved aunt and uncle, Mary and Fritz Oldenburg.
The funeral service for Bill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, in Chatfield Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Rochester Cronin House.

I worked with Bill for many years in the ER @ St Mary’s hospital. We shared many great times, always laughing. He was so gullible!
My favorite memory was he rode on the back of my 50 cc scooter one night and was yelling the whole way how much fun this was!
Always cherish our friendship!
So sorry for your loss girls. He loves all of his girls!!

Loved his senses of humor. He always had a joke for me. He loved talking about his girls his face always would light up talking about you three. Bill was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. He leaves a big void in this world that can never be filled. I’ve known Bill since grade school and cherished our conversation over the years and will miss his smiling face around work. Bill was the comedian of the Lincoln Rat pack and will be forever missed.
