David Richard Postier

The memorial service for David Richard Postier will be at 1:00pm Monday June 28, 2010 at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester with Rev. Kayla Bonewell officiating.  Interment of ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors.  The visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Mr. Postier, 81, of Rochester died Friday June 25, 2010 at Golden Living Center East in Rochester.

David was born on October 9, 1928 in Rochester to Henry J. and Amalia A. Sonnenberg Postier.  David served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 and was a Korean War Veteran.  On January 3, 1959 he married Barbara A. Stewart at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester.  He worked as a department manager at IBM for many years before retiring on April 1, 1990.  He was a member of American Legion; ELKS Lodge; and Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Rochester; two daughters Julie (Harvey) A. Bauer of Milford, KS and Dr. Lori L. Postier (Christopher Metcalf) of Waterford, WI;  one grandson Lucas Metcalf and one step-grandson Tyler Metcalf; one sister Marilyn R. Haglund of Rochester.  He is preceded in death by parents, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester.
