Arleigh G. Polikowsky

The funeral for Arleigh G. Polikowsky will be 11:00AM Thursday, June 24 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Rance Settle. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Polikowsky, age 83, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Sunrise Cottages.

He was born October 20, 1926 in Rochester and has resided in the area his entire life. On November 9, 1946, he married Rose Merkel at Trinity Lutheran Church. She survives. Mr. Polikowsky worked as a heavy equipment operator for a number of local companies during his career. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 49. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Diana (Richard) Parks of Whitehall, Montana and two sons, Gary Polikowsky and Don Polikowsky, both of Rochester. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive. He is also survived by a sister, Arleen (Robert) Wehrs of Rochester. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Rose and his parents Elmer and Eva (Kitzman) Polikowsky.
