In the 1960’s he started his own auto parts yard on the farm property, Sexton’s Auto Parts. He married Marlene Gross of Hayfield in 1965. The couple later divorced. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, shopping at flea markets, and various boutiques around town. Robert was a true family man.

He is survived by his three children: Marie Sexton of Rochester, William “Bill” Sexton of West Concord, and Jesse Sexton of Rochester; a step-son Gene Gross of St. Croix Falls, WI; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Alice, Cindy, Rebecca, Arlene, and Michelle.

He is preceded in death by his son, James, and sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” and Barbara “Genie”.

The graveside service for Robert will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson, MN. A reception will be held at the Stewartville Legion starting at 4:30pm. All are welcome.

Where does one start,  When you came looking for Bob you never knew where he would be hollering at you from.  Bob always kept the kids intrigued and asking questions.  I always looked forward to the days I would go have lunch with him.   He will always have a place in my heart.

Bob always put a smile on my face no matter what you were one of a kind and taught me many things about life over the thirty years.  How to set a trap, how girls can hunt coon, and how all that dog slobber ain’t gonna hurt you!  How not to be a city girl? be tough and get things done! Thanks for the memories you were a good, good man!!  Now you and Jim fishing in heaven!  HUG him tight for me!  Until we meet again!!  #RIP #GodSpeed
