Raymond Ralph Klinkhammer

Raymond Ralph Klinkhammer, 85, of Rochester, passed away on Thursday, May 31st following a courageous battle with cancer.

Raymond Klinkhammer was born on December 2, 1932 in Arco, MN to William and Elizabeth (Kosse) Klinkhammer.

Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was always so caring and compassionate, and gentle and quiet in his ways; but always put others first. He never complained about anything and was so very patient. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Lois Reining on June 25, 1960 in Caledonia. He worked at Gopher Aviation as an aircraft mechanic and was a maintenance man in business machines at Mayo Clinic until his retirement. After retirement, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids, playing games and cards. He greatly enjoyed being on the farm, especially when he could help with picking corn.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Colleen (Tom) Heberlein of Caledonia, Thomas (Birgit) Klinkhammer of Rochester, and Susan (Mike) Christianson of Hastings; grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) Heberlein, Amanda (Andy) Graf, Daniel Klinkhammer, Katie Klinkhammer, Holly (Joey) Trautmann, Amie Christianson, and Rachel (Ricky) Klein; great-grandchildren, Makiah, Brekken and Everlee Trautmann, and Keegan Klein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lois (Frank) Berning, and brothers, George Klinkhammer and Paul (Dee) Klinkhammer.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5th at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Condolences

The family of Raymond Ralph Klinkhammer has received the following condolences.

I am so sorry I am unable to attend today's celebration of life for Ray.  My family has so many wonderful memories of our years as neighbors.  One of Bob's fondest memories is Ray walking past our house on his way to and from the bus taking him to work.  He always had a metal lunch box!  My fondest memory is no matter when I ran into Ray he always had a smile and teased me about something.

Your family is an inspiration to us and Ray will be missed by so very many.

Sharon

Dear Lois and family, our sympathy to each of you on your loss of Ray. I would love to be with you at Rays funeral. At the present time we are on our way home from Washington DC. And I have a sciatic nerve that is giving me a lot of trouble. We will see how it is when we get home if we do not make it to his funeral we will try to visit you in the near future. Our love and hugs Bernie and Aggie Schmitz

For so many years your family’s home was directly across the street from ours and we always considered ourselves blessed to have such great neighbors!  Your lawn and flowers were our delight all summer...

If we couldn’t find Mom, we knew she was probably outside chatting with Ray and Lois solving all the world’s problems!?

Everyone in our family was saddened to hear that Ray had passed away after such a valiant fight.  You all hold a very special place in our hearts!

Praying for God’s Peace and Strength at this difficult time,

The Clark Family
